Paper Lantern Finale Thursday

Non stop thunderstorms and the baby wont sleep so I havent had much either. Even Teddy here could use a few more hours cause the baby shakes and paces and likes thunder NOT SO MUCH and at this point neither do I. I have to wait until tomorrow and some sunlight anyway to take photos of the finished Lantern which came out pretty cool. I like paper things. Paper ships paper dolls a paper ocean. I want to live in 2 dimensions.

video love tomorrow afternoon babies

I know how it is when your baby is afraid of thunger! Boo is so scared he tries to climb in my lap! He only weighs in at 165 lbs...lol All ya can do is comfort them! Your little baby looks like she is getting the attntion she need. She is so lucky to have you!

Poor Holly! I know our Dottie doesn't like thunder either. She goes to the corner and lays down with her head in the opposite direction of the window....

I'm sorry Holly is keeping you up. I remember Truman (my Bichon Frise) did that for several months until he was potty trained. Every night at 2 am,he'd whine and cry and we'd go outside to pee. Puppies are so similar to babies! So much work, but really worth it.

I'm glad you are taking good care of her and showing her love. She is so adorable.

Ooh :( Poor Holly. Dogs are such massive babies aren't they. My hubby's husky/malamute cross is HUGE, but he cowers and cries like a puppy when it thunders.

Yeah there is something so cool about paper. I like cloth too.

I wear earplugs when it storms. Won't help Holly though.

It's been raining here too... ick. My mini schnauzer is a little different: she's more curious than freaked by the thunder. However, RAIN drives her bananas. She finds all those wet drops falling on her head rather curious and unwanted, to say the least.

I'm glad you're keeping Holly girl safe. She looks so sweet. My dogs don't like the thunderstorms either.
I finally posted my finished artwork, of course inspired by you.

my friend's dog hates storms, but if i rub the inside of her ears it calms her down some - i don't know why! some super secret puppy reason...

Just remember: the more you make a fuss of her, the more she will think she's right in being so nervous, because clearly you are too. Ignoring her might feel horrible, but it's better than telling her she's right to be so scared. The dog whisperer said so. ;)

Are you wearing purple eyeshadow to match your shirt? How very "Wizard of Oz" of you. lol

"Can you even dye my eyes to match my dress?"

Speaking of thunder & lightning, have you been reading Wicked at all? I'm now halfway through and really enjoying it. It's so DIFFERENT from anything else I've read (and I've read a lot of diverse stuff), it's dark yet funny and mature.

I'm so glad you suggested we all read it, because I don't think I'd ever have picked it up otherwise. I used to read so much (my quota was always at least 24 books per year hehe) but now I hardly manage one book every 3 months.

Hope you are having nice weather now so Holly & Suzi can enjoy the sunshine together.

i had a dog that hated loud noises-storms. firecrackers and especially guns (he was shot when he was 3 about 12 times so i totally understood his fear). luckily i live near my work so i would run home and get him if it stormed since he did much better if he was close to me. it was cute how he would try to get as much of his body touching mine so he felt safe. he was a little dog stuck in a big dog body.

now belle my kitty is not afraid and is very curious about the whole storm thing.

i am working on my party girl kit~ girl and kitty are painted. wish i could leave work and go play some more!

I've been watching your videos for 2 or 3 years and I've learned much; I just love your work!

My grandchildren love your work too they are 7 & 12; girls.

I have lots of time on my hands and I paint in acrylics; I'm 62 and live in Melbourne FL. I've been painting big eyed girls in acrylic for the past 3 years since viewing your site. I love your work.

I have 5 small dogs and 3 cats.

I am doing the altered art with painting as well.

We are in the middle of putting up a web site and it is under construction but if you'd like to take a look here it the address:
