Darn, girl..wish my "house" was that cool! So, RV shoppin'?? ;0) Nina has a good idea..write to them. They did say that they undertook the project "for the love of the art". Maybe, just maybe. The only draw back might be that crispy white, very clean interior..lol! Could use the Rv to travel..and throw up a makeshift "studio"..like a canopy, or something..(that's what I do!). Wow. The possibilities! When you get the gig..we'll meet up somewhere..eh?

Mucho love..

Ha! I was watching a rerun of a segment of "30 Days" and it was about living off the grid and these two people had to go and live without electricity, conserve water, stop wearing perfume, not eat meat, etc. on this sorta commune for 30 days. Anyway, the vehicle the guy picked them up in ran off of veggie oil and he said it smelled like french fries when it runs! I thought that was so funny and kinda cool! Unfortunately, now people are stealing that veggie oil when before they couldn't give it away...i think they had to pay to have it disposed of before.

Happy day to you, Suzi!

the actress, daryl hannah has a good green web-site about this. just google her name. she has a cool old car that runs on this fuel. she even licks the gas cap. she knows a lot about it if you are interested in finding the facts about running such a thing. it would be great but i would find a good driver so you could enjoy the ride.

You need it! Make sure you come to Massachusetts when you take Suzi Blu on tour. :)

RV's used are super cheap now. Tehre are a lot of companies that will do the conversion for you cheap too. There are a couple in Cambridge MA. A friend of mine bought a ford Eco van second hand and spent $1000 to have it converted to veggie oil. He got himself sponsored by a couple of green companies to travel cross contry. they bought him large vinyl stickers for the side of his van and he had a great time travelling for next to nothing!

You could buy a smaller RV for about $3500 and have an engine that is still in great condition and interior that is nice and then convert for $1000 for a total of $4500. It's do-able and would work well for you.

You could offer up sponsorship packages- A company pays you so much money for placement of a certain sized logo for a year and so many miles, if they want the logo on there after a year then they pay again. In the end the advertising pays for the vehicle an dif you do it right diesel... (Veggie oil vans use some diesel)

You could proably get sponsorship by moleskine, golden, other paint companys and art sales places.

Can you tell I've thought a lot about this?

Now that IS a cool idea! I've been driving a Mercedes for a couple months now on WVO. I pick up my oil every week at a little Japanese restaurant right next to my studio and take it home and filter it, and away I go! It's SO cool! It smells like egg rolls every time I'm idling at a stop light, which always makes me smile. I'm going to add a 'green' section to my blog soon to share the process. It's messy, but then so is making art, so it's all good. : )

I finally heard back from this guy. The $550 is PER DAY rent!

Ouch.

Here's how he put it...
"Thanks for your question about Elbee.

These things sell new
for $850,000. The $550 is the daily rental. Considering it would cost $650 just in fuel to drive it all day if you ran it on diesel, it is a heck
of a deal!

Thanks,

SA"

Its a very cool idea that I've been hearing a lot lately....what happens if this catches on and the gas companies get up in arms about it is what scares me...; they are definately not going down without a fight....
