I'm listening to the audio version, and having a hard time getting into it. I'll keep tryin' :-)

I also wanted to mention http://librivox.org/ where folks read books no longer in the public domain and you can download for free. You can listen or read or both!

i got mine yesterday. it's much bigger than yours, tho. the chapters are only a couple pages long. love it! hysterically funny.

ps: blogger keeps messing up my comments and won't let me post. trying one more time using IE instead of firefox

Yayy Suzi, your book has arrived! The sides of your pages are green, how cool, mine are plain white! So, now we can all start reading, I'm so looking forward to it! And, I seriously need some reading, my grandfather (= Opa in Dutch) passed away last night and I can certainly do with some distraction to keep myself from feeling terribly upset, I've been painting and crocheting and now I can also dive in to the wicked story to take my mind off of things. Btw, your video totally cheered me up when I saw it, I'm really excited about wicked!! Suzi, thnx for giving my/our life some extra sparkles, you're the best! :D
Big kiss and lots of dutchie love,
Fleur!

Yay! I picked up my book from the library and can't wait to get reading. Look forward to seeing your scrapbook pages. Funny, I was a scrapbooker and am moving over to art journals instead. :)

Suzi, I will stop by my local Borders tonight on my way home from Zumba Class. If they have the book... I'll join in the read. I haven't sent you the MOrder yet, waiting till Thursday, (tomorrow) pay day. The 48th district court just robbed me of $130.00 for a ticket when I wasn't even speeding!
BTW - what month is your birthday?
from: Edie Simons - even though it says Renelli, that's just a username.

I'm trying to order this from Amazon but it's been a pain for the past few days and keeps giving me an error when I try to check out! (and I needed to buy ink cartridges for work anyway so I thought I would benefit from the free delivery..) Oh well I hope it'll start working soon! I'm a fast reader so I'm sure I'll catch up

I'm reading Sophie's World at the moment.

Fleuri-Anne: I am so sorry to hear about your Opa passing away. I will be thinking of you at this difficult time.

I've got a bid on Wicked on Ebay and hoping I win. If not I guess I'll go and get a used one off of Amazon. Can't wait to get started!

I need to dig up this book....
I got it a few years ago because I loved how it looked (I've got this one:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/0060987103/sr=8-8/qid=1214435802/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=266239&s=books&qid=1214435802&sr=8-8 )

but never got into it enough to really start reading it. I had only seen Wizard of Oz maybe once or twice, which did not help.

But I'd love to give it another try. ;)

Not sure about the scrap booking though. I'm not a neat and tidy person who measures stuff and outlines and pre cut words and phrases.....

Fleuri-Anne.. I JUST purchased a bottle of the parfume my grandmother use to wear so I could think of her more often. Shes been gone for quite a while now, but I keep photos of her around and thinking of her a lot. She is/was very inspiring for me. Focus on the happy positive thoughts and know that there are better things ahead. *cyber hugs* would that be chugs?

So I wanna read this book too..hrmm.. may end up dragging in at the last minute, but by golly I'll get it. hehe

That's what my book looks like too, Eveline. I don't know if they still carry it but I picked up my copy at Target a few years ago. If they do still have it I think it would probably look like the one Suzi has.

Fleur, I echo everyone's sentiment around here about your loss. Keep your chin up and remember the good times with your Dad and when you're feeling bad there are plenty of friends around here to listen.

I got it, I got it! Okay, so I have Wicked, though my pages are not green :( That is too cool! I can't wait to read this with everyone and share our thoughts on it along with art too! I missed the musical when it was here in Charlotte, well I didn't miss it, I knew it was here, but so many things occured in my life that I just couldn't go. So....I am thinking, after we all read the book, shall we gather up our flying monkeys and our broomsticks and head to NY for the Musical and a little play time with Art? (okay I am dreaming, but....)

Thats a FABULOUS idea.
I am all for meeting up and seeing the musical!

Ok, enough of that!

I actually read Wicked TWICE about a year ago. I had to read it two times cuz it was oh so very good! You're gonna love it! I was so inspired and I made so much jewelry because of it and it all sold! Too cool!

You gotta read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by the same author. It's really really good!

I made a wedding scrapbook a few weeks ago and it was my first time ever doing one. It was totally intimidating at first!! My mom helped, but she couldn't understand why on earth I would find it hard. "You're an artist though!" she'd say. Once I got going it was fun though. Good luck!

mmal said...

I love the idea of going to Wicked! It would be great to meet people from all over who share the same passions. Other ideas to consider:

an art cruise (either 7 or 4-day)Wouldn't that be great??? All seas, paint and food!!!!!!!! I know they have scrapbooking and craft cruises, so why not an art cruise?

a trip to visit the Dutchies.

My husband has a travel agency and can look into pricing and such for maybe next year. If anyone is interested, let me know.
