Love the typewriter, so cool!! It's a full moon night which some people call The Honey moon. Have some lunar fun tonight: paint, draw, dance and howl at the moon.

I too love the dutchie!

I am so happy you haven't stopped painting!

I find art takes me away from all the crap that fills my head and makes it go away if only while I'm doing art.

keep it up Suzi your friends are rooting for you.
YAAAH SUZI!

Hi Suzi! Love the sleepin with the fishes. Like the idea of creating images for funny phrases we use like that one. Once again--you've inspired me, that's why I luv ya!

Peace & Love.

don't know if you know it but the grrrlscout account on youtube has been closed.

the eBay auctions are still up though.

seems like the public portion of this may be ending. I hope so. I like it best when you make art and videos about art.

I see a Dutch girl!!!!! So awesome!

If you want any help or advice with HTML/CSS coding for your website, let me know!

Can I suggest something you could put on your site? What I'd LOVE, is a gallery that has all your art pieces. That way all your pieces would be together in a convenient place for people to look at and be inspired! (unless you already have something like this?)

Although I love you all for watching my back, lets not even concern ourselves with what other people do, okay? Lets just get under the blankets with our Wicked books, (when we get them) turn on our flashlights and read. Then pop on out and scribble things onto paper and wood.

I really dont care about people do with auctions or puppies. It means nothing. Lets just go ahead and start making some art!

Aaaajajajjjj SUZI, I love the Dutchie girl, oh my, it's sooo pretty, this is honestly the first time I am head over heals with a picture of a girl dressed in the dutch folkloric costume!! Often it looks a little tacky but this is soo beautiful, it makes me even more proud to be a dutchie!! Suzii I love all your plans, the wicked book, and the blankets, I'll get some hot coco for all of us!! I will start my hunt for this book very soon so we can all have some wickedness together, can't wait! I love all the new sketches and the new site and I can NOT wait 'til the dutchie girl is finished!!
Big kiss,
Fleur!

You sure, Suzi? I have been feeling rather patriotic lately with the Dutch football (that's soccer to you) team doing so well in the European Championships, which made me think of doing a Dutch girlie for a painting.

cuteartworld said...

Suzi I sent you an e-mail hope you get it. I thought everyone was already reading the book WICKED umm I sat out in the sun today and started it..Well being that I am a slow reader I need a head start anyway.Haha I got as far as The Quadling Glassblower that is 32 pages.lol All I can say is I loved Harry Potter books and AnnRice's Vamp books but Gregory Mc Quire has got my attention wow this is great reading. I just might have to get my flash light out too! haha

Shonna said...

Love them all. Esp the Dutchie girl. I can't wait to see it painted. I want to make a Dutchie girl too!! I think I will sketch one tonight!! I hope you are doing better today.

Love, love the Dutchie girl! Hmmm...reading WiCkEd, well, I could give that a go! There's got to be a copy of it around here somewhere...

renelli said...

It seems to me that everyone out there knows something (lots of things) that I've missed. What's with Dutchie's and is the book Wicked like the play "Wicked" or is this book about something all together different?

P.S. I'm buying a Suzi Blu commission for myself!!! So excited, can't wait to see my little girl.
Edie

i have gesso in my fingernails!

suzi blu said...

renelli,

Dutchies are magical beings that live in Holland or the netherlands or sweeden and places like that where they wear wooden shoes and eat chocolate. To touch a dutchie is to touch heaven and when a dutchie LOVES you, ohhh, you are rich indeed.

Wicked is like the play yes. Im still waiting for my copy BLEH.

Okay I finally found the typewriter Yes, very cool. I liked the way it typed it out how you feel about your typewriter.

My kids dont even know what one is. That seems so weird.

DeeDee said...

I too thought the dutchie was a pirate. I'd love to see you paint a pirate girl!

It is neat to see your sketches. My favourite is the Sleepen with the Fishes. Would love to see more of what you do with narrative work. Maybe with 'Wicked' I will!

Chi said...

'You can feel peaceful, no matter how other are acting'. That's a great line. I have to learn how to do that, cauz I still let what others think decide my life way too much.

The Dutchie looks great. And the fishies look mean. As does the doggie. But I love them all =)

Lots of Dutchie love and huggles.
Chi.

I love all of your sketches. I `m not sure if I can find "Wicked" here in Norway, but I will try to get it somehow. Painting love from Norway ;)

still... mean people suck.

and vengeful people are just rotten to the core.

karma will take care of everything...

also... stay away from people named melissa. it has recently come to my attention that 4 out of the 5 melissa's that I know are down-right rotten.

(apologies to all the non-rotten melissa's out there... 1 in 5 of you are good people ;o))

*LOL* The Dutch live in the Netherlands, also known as Holland. Not Sweden. Although, I'm sure there are Dutch living in Sweden. Just like this Dutchie living in the UK.
Why make things more simple when they can be oh so complicated, right?

mistie said...

Brilliant as usual! I love the fishies and the little girl sleeping although I must say I feel the need to swim in a save her or at least feed the fish right away. :) On my way to pick up "Wicked" from our local used book store. Can't wait to see what all you creative goddesses come up with!

Shonna said...

Thanks for inspiring me (AGAIN). I sketched my own Dutchie last night and posted it on my blog. It's not as cute as yours, but I had so much fun with her. I can't wait to paint her on canvas! Thanks again for the inspiration!! You Rock!!

Suzi,

Ooh, I've already got the book "Wicked" sitting on my shelf. I bought it a while back but never finished it. Maybe now I'll have a reason to. I'm one of those people if I put a book down for more than a day or so then I get lost in the plot and have to start over. That was the only reason I haven't finished it yet. Can't wait to see what it inspires out of you, Suzi, and all you other lovely ladies.

pumog said...

I just found the typewriter!!! So wonderful....

moonsownsister said...

So I'm posting this here instead of with the last section where it should be 'cause I'm not sure if Suzi's gonna have time to check back on those:

yeah, Suz, paint yourself nude! I was going through a very negative self-image time (more emotional/spiritual than physical) and painted/drew mostly self-portraits for about THREE YEARS! Identity seeking. And though that was years ago, now that I'm trying to learn to paint realistic skin tones, I paint nudes of myself all. the. time. Because I'm too cheap to pay a model. Also could be awkward explaining resident nudes to child protection services... this way I have my own personal model available on demand whenever I have privacy. And I work cheap.

Also, back in college, not only was I painting myself, but I tried to do a sculpture that involved nude me wrapped in saran wrap, then spider-webbed all around by a helper, using plaster-dipped strings. The idea was that after it had hardened, I'd have my helper clip me out, then I'd re-assemble the spiderweb me. I was on speakerphone with a dj for a couple of hours during this, 'cause it was reeeeallly boring to stand still that long. The project ended up failing, as I had too many tiny shifts for the plaster to harden correctly. Too bad...

(Had a friend who actually cast his nude girlfriend in plaster full body, though, to make a mold. He neglected to cover her pubes fully --- he had to cut her out with an eXacto knife! Yeek! A couple years later, the hairs were still embedded in the mold. And she wasn't his girlfriend any more...) Painting is much more fun and less painful!
