It's up now! Very coolness! Hey, those day of the dead flowers/skullishness are a great idea for including!
Suzi,I love the board books. I did one for my daughter as a scrapbook. My dd is telling me now that I never finished it. I did start it though. I love board books! I can't wait to see yours.Anni
Your vacation looks like it is in Australia! We have palm trees and crocodiles. I love the idea of following along with you. I'd like to draw my own girl, could you list what else we will need?I don't know if they have board books around here. Maybe not that cheaply. I will look tomorrow.Ooh fun! Projects!
darn gave those board books away, my kids grew out of them ages ago. If only I knew!!but I will be hunting some down!I cant wait for the kits
And alligators, we have alligators too. Well, not where I live but further north...What size watercolour paper should I get?I am all excited.
Suzi,It looks like you're thinking Florida! Where I'm now heading. Lulu has healed my doggie heart.. missed my doggie way much from our 12 years together ...I'm now going to get a new puppy! Thanks cutie LuLu. Poop and all!Did you think about the video idea Suzi from my question/comment on your "Suzi Creates Online Class"? So many of us enjoy your teaching, energy and fun way of creating art... too many of us for fitting into the 50 slots! I know you're juggling tons...But soooo hoping this is a possibility.
My My My Suzi has tons of yummy goodness up her sleeves! kits oh My! :)Love the board book idea, I love altering them along with any mini book I conjure up and bind myself. Scrapbooking being another obsession of mine and whose supplies always end up being used in my paintings and art journals. Signed up for the newsletter...I want a mermaid kit! ;)
YeY! YeY! YeY! "Tell a story about me" and an "altered book" AND "KITS!!!" (I SO need a kit!) YeY! YeY! YeY! Thankyou Suzi Blu... We LUV YOU, here in Australia TOO! (...Don't know how ya gonna git that VAN on a plane though!) KisseS and HugS XoX
So many ideas! I wanna do all of them. Especially the kit! Love that everything will already be in it. Sometimes stuff is hard to find here in Holland. Off to search for a board book and save money so I can buy ALL of your kits!Kisses and huggles!
I have like 100 board books, yay! I will do this project.L♥ve Adri
You crack me up so much, you're so deadpan and semi-sarcastic =p 'oops I just hit myself in the head' I do that too much, or like, walk into the side of the door. I don't know why that happens. I just noticed that you started off drawing that girl by doing her eyes. That's so interesting and I'm gonna try it next time! I usually start with the shape of the head & hair, and then I add the eyes, but I ALWAYS end up then erasing the shape of the head and doing it again because it doesn't match the size of the eyes. I love candy (OK we call them sweets in England hehe) that is 'for kids', like candy necklaces and jawbreakers
Iris you have no blog! I wanted to go and comment. How is my little dutchie today? Dutchies need sweets to live or they loose their dutchie powers. and dutchie power heals the world always remember that. are there still any old time Sweet Shops in England you could photograph? when I think of London thats what I think of, in my brain England is like every period movie Ive ever seen and not modern at all. Oliver twist is in the streets and pharmacies are apothecaries with little bald men in white coats standing before dark wooden shelves and glass bottles.
Suzi, I did a painting! Not that great at all but I had much fun doing it!
luv the little stairs for lulu....how sweet of you.well your holiday is with me Suzi, I'm a born and breed cockney from London and I can take you around all the victorian streets etc, Oliver Twist, Jack the Ripper..!!!! and then of course we jump on a plane to where I live in Italy and I will feed you up on spaghetti , lasagna, pizza, etc.can't wait for the kits to hit the shop.keep wellhugscrafty in italy
I have a blog, just not on blogger =) It's at iris-impressions.com I WISH that England was like that still!! Around where I live (Lawyer's district in London) the architecture is very old and quaint but all the shops and people are thoroughly modern (and corporate! suits and briefcases hehe). If you go out into the countryside though, there are those old fashioned sweet shops with people behind a counter and big glass jars. Maybe those exist in London as well, but I only know the pick 'n' mix places (I have such a sweets addiction.. especially those sour ones. Shh don't tell anyone!)
Great video; I can't wait for the kits! Have you ever tried twinkling H2O's? They are little wells of watercolor paint, but they illuminate and are sparkly. I used them in my most recent painting last night and kept thinking to myself "Suzi Blu would love these!" I'm going to post the painting on my blog soon, but I'm not sure how well you will be able to see the effect in the photo. Shonna
Hey Suzi Blu... what a supercalifragislistic... (well you get the idea) idea!!!!!I want to do glittery mermaids ... but no poo poo platter doggies. How soon will your kits be available????
suzi, I used to teach altered board books in a few of my classes--they're SOOOOO much fun---if you want some tips or extra tricks, let me know----oooooh, and maybe I'll send you one.okay--listen up peeps, if you don't find old board books in your local thrift store--and don't want to pay like $8 for one made by a scrapbooking company (RIP OFF!!....I know how much they actually cost to make) There's a great little company in WI you can order from--- www.barebooks.com go over to the left side, click blank bare books then go down to chunky. You have to order $20 work, but trust me--you'll love playing with these so much---YOU WILL!!!!!!(I just gave away one of my favorite secrets--feel lucky, lol)
Ha, that Lulu is such a little camera whore.
Love the board books. I've been altering them for years. I like the ones with puzzles inside. You take them out and you have a framed page that has some dimention. Weird, I was thinking yesterday about you or Tascha making a blank (b&W)of your art that we could paint. You could make a kick-ass coloring book!!!
I lovelovelove your journal page.
LOL that LULU cracks me up, wanting to get in your embellishment bowl!!! She is adorable!!!! and soOOOOOo SWEET!(just like someone we all know! tee hee with the initials SB) Love this new video, the painting and croc is just too darn cute! smiles and chuckles in WV!
Beautiful journal page and I love that flower/skull drawing! That board book is a good idea, let's see if they sell it out here so cheap as well.Great that we can buy a kit soon, can't wait for that!Love and hugs for you SuziGoddess
I just found out some dollar stores sell board books.
I have a bone to pick with you SuziBlu!! I have to keep rewatching the darn video because everytime I come to this site I get so inspired that I start painting and drawing and making stuff ... Could be worse though, you could inspire me to clean my house ;)
Trust me Carrie, I'll never make a video about that! Next week I'll show you the interior of my car. Ants live in it. In my car. who has that?
Ok Suzi, I posted about the Twinkling H2O's on my blog! Let me know what you think?-Shonna
Thanks for the vid! I love those little 3-D paper objects. AND I have a board book that I just found the other day and thought how I really should do something with it! And now you have a project for us.I never had ants in my car, but when I lived in Florida I used to get frogs in my car. I have no idea how they even got in, but I would find them in my backseat all the time.
I love that you say us Dutchies need sweets in order to keep our Dutchie power. I neeeeeedddd my sweets!I live in the UK too, and had to really get used to the hills here. I'm not allowed to call them hills, because they're not according to the people here in Essex, but because Holland is flat-flatter-flattest a molehill is considered a hill. ;)
I get my board books at the dollar store. I made one for a little girl for her birthday last year with her as a fairy and the book was all about fairies. It was soooo fun! Loved the video...everything about it.
Love you and your art!!! Lulu looks like a little puppet when she is laying down. So cute!
this is a great idea. some of us want to "undo" art school and play. you are a natural teacher. we want to make beautiful pictures too. we want to paint like a free spirit! this connects us to art and the beautiful suzi blu too. i'm in for anything you can come up with. so i'm staying tuned in from texas, adios, cingal
I got my board book today!Do I need anything else? (photos, she said photos)Got those too!I am ready to play.
