You made this video for me! Well, maybe you didn't do it for me, but it sure felt like it because I recently said that I want to be an artist but didn't feel like I was there yet. I caught myself even last night in class telling people about my art journal but quickly adding that I'm no artist or anything and it just made me sad to hear myself say that. Making excuses for my art. Pitiful. I'm not going to do that any more. And, and, and... I opened up a booth in my favorite antique mall last weekend, so I'm a "shop owner" now, too!Thank you, thank you, thank you for so much inspiration and love Suzi. May it be returned to you a thousand times! All this art and antiquing is killing me though! I'm supposed to be writing big papers for my classes!Love,Pearle
What an inspiring person you are! These are some of the things I have been struggling with and you just made it so much clearer!
Hi Suzi !I just wrote about this on my blog not long ago! I have finally accepted and started proudly using the label "artist" for myself. Like you, I think we are all artists ! I think we have to be to make sense of this crazy world and to live the best life we can ! Thanks for celebrating the brave, messy, wonderful artist in all of us !Take care, KimPS :If you have the chance some time after poop lock down and all your other wonderful pursuits, I would be so honored to have you visit my blossoming blog !
I call myself an artist and I can only paint 10 min/day (as you know)!!Love the page re-design. Very clean and easier on the eyes:-!
in your other post of this video I only mentioned LuLu and her "issues"what I really wanted to say was that was a realllly inspiring video. Thanks I needed that.I just had someone I know look at my art and say "oh my daughter is a REAL artist"which then made me not want to show anyone my art again. So this just hit the spot! who cares what other people think I am an artist!
but I am not a computer wizard! I posted twice and ...to long a story!
Fantastic video. YOu are right we are Artists Writers and more. Re Lulu, do you take her for walks. Sometimes the dog needs to walk for awhile and then she'll do her business. Good luck with the training. I hope you get your studio done soon so you can go and find your stuff. I know how frustrating that can be.Kate
Hi there~I found your blog through a friend who recommended it. Although I'm not an artist, per say, I have an artist's heart and soul. Your video inspired me, today. I'm opening a therapy practice and you re-invigorated the passion I have for my practive (that wavers underneath the scared-out-of-my-wits part) :)Thanks~
My god, I thought I loved you before, but after this vid.. I could marry you. This video is just wonderful, love what you're saying!
Thanks for the encouragment!I read somewhere that dogs eat poo for nuterients. They especailly like cat poo. I'd ask your vet if it's not good, to make sure. I know small children can get I think it is salmonella or ecoli poisoning from eating animal poo. If you have stepped on poo outside and bring it inside. A child crawling or playing on the floor can get it on their hands and stick their hand in their mouths and it can make them sick. But animals eating it I am not sure. Just ask your vet to make sure. I wouldn't kiss your puppy if he's eating it though. Make sure you do the parasite cleanse when you have indoor animals. People don't do that like they use to back in the day and we can get them without knowing it. We deworm our animals and forget that we need to go on a cleanse. I think that is why granparents would get out the cod liver oil. One reason anyway.God Bless You Suziblu!!!
Heh hun - love your movie and just wanted to let you know my dog - who is enormous and eats ALLOT only poops once a day. Even when he was a pup it was once a day...so dont worry if lulu hasn't pooped more yet...they can hold it till they are comfortable, aka, when is gets the whole going outside thing :)Hope this releases u from lock down :D
my response to this video is on my blog, please, everyone go see. you changed my life today Suzi Blu! :D
Your video was just what I needed to hear today. Just this week I decided to pursue my dream of being an artist and going to art school rather than going to nursing school. It seems so much harder to make this kind of decision when you are “older” (I’m 38). Hearing recently that you’re 40 was such an inspiration to me. I was one of the many that thought you were in your early twenties! Thank you, dear Suzi, for sharing your beautiful, inspirational self with all of us.
Every time I tell someone I am an artist, they ask me if I can make some paintings for their living room or something....geez!
thank you so much for stopping by, i really appreciate all the time you're putting into me! i am so grateful and appreciative of your inspiration and support!!xoxodinah
BRAVO SUZI!!!!! I am an artist also! Love what you do! You are the heart and dreams of all artists! Rock on sistah! Congrats on the Zine!
you go girl! you are too cute! wish you could come over for a cup of coffee!LOVE,ericawww.blujaystudio.blogspot.com
I am an Artist! Suzi, you rock! Love how you just fearlessly took at chance, made a different choice...took your $$$$ and did what you had to do. (bet your parents are scared shitless for your future!) LOL I know my Mine get uneasy about my choices but yet still they believe in my talent. in the end though why be scared..unless you are particular to material things...you can never be a millionaire and yet live a happy life...I think of Jamaica where some people never know what it is to be rich or even middle class and yet they live longer (I`m talking past 100yrs old!) and despite a harder life are happier and less stressed than us over here in a land where we take much for granted. The truth the matter as long as you decided to live your life in a way that was authentic to you and what makes you happy and brings you joy...all the other things will fall into place. my Mother always says that if you ever hit bottom it`s not the end of the world...becasue the only place to go is up...just make sure you stop looking down.Ok...I`m ranting...as for the poop eating...ewwWWWWWW!!! LULU!
ok I have a puppy named Sofie, she was eating her poo. Went to the vet she said small breeds sometimes do this. I said what can we do about it. She said you could suff in her food from the vet (no i did not), or just continue to pick it up before she gets to it. Alright thats what we did 3 months later she does not eat her poo anymore, she sniffs it but that is it. So the answer my friend is pick it up as soon as she does it, might take a few months but they get out of the habit. Or you will be in lockdown alot longer......love your art
You might have a one poo per day dog. We have 2 dogs a cocker spaniel who poops like a dozen times a day, sometimes twice in one shot outside. The other dog, a affenpincher brussels griffon mix poops once per day. Thats it. When we first adopted him he had a few accidents in the house and we couldn't figure it out... But now, no more poo inside. I had a daschund who ate his poo... He used to get really mad and aggressive when I would take it away. He really liked his poo...My ex's lab would eat any poo she found when on walks. It was f*cking the grossest thing I've ever seen. I mean seriously ANY TYPE of animal poo she'd eat. Then my ex would try and dig it out of her mouth. Now that I think of it, it's kind of funny....
I tried posting this on YouTube but my post wouldn't go through, so I'm trying here instead!Poop-eating is very common and you can actually get tablets called "Potty Mouth" made by a company called Four Paws that I guess makes the poop taste unappealing to puppies so they'll stop eating it! Here's a link just so you can see what the box looks like: http://www.arcatapet.com/item.cfm?cat=12360Good luck!!
Thank you so much for this video. I really needed to hear that I can be an artist just because I think I am one!!! Y
You are so right!!!!!
wow, what an inspirational post! I have a problem calling myself an "artist" (the way I think of it, "Artist" to me means someone like Da Vinci or Monet... not me!) but your point of view really makes sense. Thanks!!As for the potty training issue, are you crate-training Lulu?? It's not "mean" or anything... dogs actually like having a place they can go and be quiet by themselves; it's like their den. Anyway, while they're in there they won't poop or pee because it's "their space" and they know not to mess it up. We crate trained our Sheltie, and she's fine with it. (She also usually only poops twice a day- once in the morning, and once after dinner at night... she doesn't eat her own poop, but unfortunately, sometimes she eats the cat poop!)good luck with the potty training!!
Oh Suzi, such joyous Truth!! thank you, you are so important to my art life. Love your little watercolor.
And it takes one to know one my dear! Great post!
art, schmart. i want to know when the dog finally crapped and what's going on with poo lockdown.
Hi Suzi,Everything you will give attention will grow......So will this " Poo Problem" So try to let go. It is a phase which will pass.My two Shih Tzus ate their own poo when they were young, but now they are grown up the problem is over, so will Lulu's one day.So relax, don't lock yourself up in the kitchen, it will only frustrate you.I gave my doggies "eggcakes" (something Dutch), which contains a little amonia, according to the vet something that would help , but maybe this site will have an answer.......Remember if you can't solve the problem, time will!Good luck!
ok, Suziblu. i did it. i had to fill out something tonight and when it asked my occupation i actually put "artist." yes, i am an artist, i am an artist, i am an artist...(thank you, big hugs)
Suzi thought it was about time i stopped by and said hi - i found your vidoes on youtube - wow! they are fabulous! your art is beautiful, and i think you are so generous to share so much of your creativity and passion for art.you have inspired me to begin my own art journal and to try wax collage - so a huge thank you for that.hope you have a great day, angela
