What a beautiful, bold and cathargic process. When you painted over the written words I cringed because they were the diary. What you felt and explained the impetence of your effort. The video saves that. The layers theme isn't just about the paint and wax, ideas underlying the finished work, it's about life and how we live. Many times we do our best and years later question ourselves, that is what wisdom comes from. Imagine being a parent and looking back as to what you may have done different and apply that to your own life. Naturally we treat our children as best we can, can we say that we do the same for ourselves? The feelings we knew , are they a memory or something we can feel now and forever? Why does it seem so mixed up as we get older, when it should be easier? Like taking the time for a nap and feeling everything is alright. Suziblu is right when she talks about artjournals. She has discovered a special thing and it's heartfelt and from experience.
wonderful work, amanda....thanks so much for sharing your first efforts, which are TERRIFIC! go for it........let the healing begin!! wendy
Obviously you are inspiring many people - To whom or what do you turn for inspiration ???
At first I thought it was someone trying to be Suziblu, but then the art started and WOW!Those layers! What a wonderful journal entry - I can still smell that melting wax. (Something I used to love doing when I was little). Well done - I really enjoyed watching :)
Thank you for sharing Amanda's video. I love her layers journal page. I need to learn how to make videos to share and I need to go buy one of those mini craft irons. Melting crayons looked like too much fun!
